I got stranded the other day in Santa Monica around 6 pm, so I decided to walk down to the beach and watch the sunset. I haven’t done that in a while, and man oh man was it was beautiful.
The sun was tucking itself into the hills as a blanket of pink rolled over the water. The Ferris wheel sparkled in the last of the light, and all was calm.
How lovely, I thought. I should do this more often. Ever since I moved to Hollywood, I hardly ever venture out West anymore. I miss the ocean.
There are so many wonderful things California has to offer, and the more I think about it, the more I realize, I don’t take nearly enough advantage of them! Museums, street fairs, art galleries, concerts, there’s just so much!
I need to be a better tourist in my own town! Take more pictures, eat more ice cream – the good stuff.
After the sunset I did some window-shopping on the promenade. There were fairy lights in the trees, happy couples strolling arm in arm, and a general feeling of fall in the air.
So I’m looking forward to pumpkin carving and sweaters. Hayrides and trick-or-treaters (ok maybe not hayrides).
Sometimes it takes a little push to jog us out of our comfort zone into doing something different. I guess I need to get abandoned more often, and see what happens if left to my own devices… who knows, maybe next week I’ll be base jumping!
Till next time
Try it yourself – do something outside of your comfort-zone. It might be fun, you never know…
