Baal

Baal

2024 is 30 years since one of the country’s most frontier-seeking, lively and original rock bands met for the first time in a small, spooky rehearsal room in Vanløse.

The collaboration immediately led to the publication of the cult classic “Sensorama”, which in the middle of a minimalist grunge period distinguished itself by drawing on references from e.g. Queen, Bertolt Brecht and David Bowie. The album was followed by a real triumph at the country’s venues and festivals, and here Baal’s unique live reputation was founded with, among other things, some memorable, almost sectarian sessions at Midtfyn and Roskilde Festival.

Since then, Baal has only looked forward and with 8 studio albums, 2 live albums & 4 theater records in his luggage, he has never bowed to the trends of the time. Instead, it has always been about experimenting and challenging the music and the listener, but always with Bjørn Fjæstad’s distinctive, unifying vocals as a recognizable centerpiece.

Over the past 25 years, Baal has built a reputation as one of the country’s very best live bands and has long since built up a loyal and dedicated audience, and the band is more fluent and alive than ever, the concerts still grand and unpredictable.

Baal is looking forward to celebrating the first 30 years on an extensive tour around the country’s venues.

And so that it doesn’t all drown in pure nostalgia, the band has of course created a brand new album, which will be released in January 2024.

12 melodic and atmospheric songs that, as always, send arrows forward, but still exude the right Baal spirit.

Baal is:

Bjørn Fjæstad – Vocals

Henrik Sten Melander – Keyboards

Morten Lundsgaard – Guitar

Kenni Andy Jørgensen – Drums

Troels Skjærbæk – Bass
